I made an early spring trip to Middle Creek Wildlife Area to photograph the massive clouds of snow geese that are found there. I did not get any pictures of them, but I did get the closest shots that I've ever gotten of one of my favorite duck species: The ring neck duck. A good rule of thumb is to keep in mind that when plan A fails, it pays to be ready with plan B.
The resident chipmunk at my old apartment was easily lured in with Planters unsalted mixed nuts. Step one - survey the area. Here he is, no doubt filled with lust, scoping out the nuts from a safe distance.
I visited the Japanese Zen Garden in Portland Oregon with the intention of photographing this famous Japanese Maple Tree. Well, famous among photographers anyway! The light was terrible the day that I was there and my photographs weren't any good. I used a bit of Photoshop Tomfoolery to produce something that is over the top but intriguing to my eye. Somehow, it captures the essence of the tree that I was hoping to bring home.
