Standing atop the short summit of Bald Mountain in Franconia Notch State Park, New Hampshire, I photographed this sunset. The wind was nearly knocking me over and made me wonder what it must be like up on the nearby high summits.

While learning to fish as juveniles, young bald eagles will often try to steal fish from the adult eagles who have mastered their craft. Moments after this image was captured, a mid-air tussle ensued with the adult eagle keeping its catch.
