There is a rise near the road that falls away down to where this doe is standing. The field rises back up behind her to help create this quirky illusion.
I stood next to the trestle near Fabyan's Station in Bretton Woods as the Conway Scenic pulled in. Because there was a road intersection just off to my left, I knew what was coming, and the conductor of the train didn't disappoint me. A huge blast of the train's horn nearly gave me the heart attack that I thought that I was prepared to avoid.
