The Youghiogheny River in southern PA is a beautiful river known for its white water rafting. This image was made above the falls in Ohiopyle. I think that it shows the character of the river and I love the dorsal fin shape the water has in the bottom center. It ws just one of those happy accidents; I was shooting a lot from this spot trying to capture the flow and none of the other images have a dorsal fin in them like this one.
This plant blooms for just a few hours! I photographed this one in Pocahontas County, WV. We had a spotter in the area keep an eye on the plants, and when the buds started to swell, indicating that they were about to bloom, we made the five hour drive.
This is a young eagle from a winter eagle expedition I made to Iowa. The eagle's head and tail will turn more and more white each year until they are completely white in the bird's fifth year.
