This is an orchid that likes boggy wet soil and is well distributed throughout the area that I live in. That said, its not something I see all too often unless I go looking for them where they've been found before.
Calypso is an orchid of the north country. We traveled to the Bruce Peninsula region of Canada to find some. Very careful camera placement created this 'washy' looking image full of bokeh.
